Bella Wishes
Tess (aka Tessa May) wrote Bella Wishes due to her inspiration with belly dance in 2004.
Bella Wishes is an early learning reading book, featuring Bella the belly dancing hippopotamus who danced from page to page to inspire confidence in body image from an early age.
The book was inspired January 2004. CarLou Interactive Media & Publishing was formed in March 2004 in loving memory of Tess’s parents Carolynn and Lou, who both passed in late 2003.
Bella Wishes book came off the presses in July 2004, while Baker & Taylor became the distribution outlet to major bookstores, indie book stores, online stores and book fairs by September 2004.

Tess toured the United Stated with many book signings, workshops, speaking engagements, dance events to share the story and inspire body confidence.
Inspired by the dance movement and the young dancers, Tess formed an 8 week workshop that was led by expert dancer, Anahata, which would then become an interactive dance DVD that was produced in 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German.
Tess traveled to Bali in 2006 to find the right manufacturing partner and fabrics to create the belly dance accessory line, as well as the Bella Wishes plush doll.
